Your story didn't begin when you entered therapy, and I don't expect to already know it. Tell me about your culture. Tell me about your faith. Tell me about your identity, your relationships, your family, and the experiences that shaped you. I want to understand your world.
It means you are welcome here exactly as you are, no judgment, no shame, only acceptance.
Whether you're part of the LGBTQ+ community, exploring your gender identity or sexual orientation, navigating faith or spirituality, coming from a different culture, race, or ethnicity, living with a disability, neurodivergent, in a traditional or non-traditional relationship, or simply looking for an affirming therapist who wants to understand your unique story, you deserve a space where you don't have to explain why you belong.
What if we are from different backgrounds and lived experiences?
Tell me about your world.
I don't expect to already know your experiences simply because we've met. If your culture, faith, identity, relationships, family traditions, or lived experiences shape the way you see the world, I want to know about them. Teach me. Therapy works best when we understand your world together rather than asking you to fit into someone else's.
Feedback is always welcome.
If I misunderstand something, tell me. If I use language that doesn't fit your experience, tell me. If something isn't sitting right, tell me. I genuinely appreciate feedback because it helps us build a therapeutic relationship that feels safe, collaborative, and authentic.
